Will the CPI-101 P-Phone Interface work with a Tapi Driver?
Yes. You can download our tapi driver from our FTP site. The address is: ftp://ftp.dpl.ca.
Will the CPI-101 monitor all analog & digital lines?
No. The CPI-101 will only work with Meridian Digital Centrex (MDC) lines from a Nortel DMS-100® switch.
What is the CPI-101 high impedance model?
The high impedance unit is designed to coexist with an MDC set. It is intended for telephony applications where voice access to the line is required. The high impedance has all of the features included in the low impedance version with the exception of tone reception and generation.
Does special software come with the unit, or do I have to buy it separately?
The CPI-101 does not come with line monitoring software. There are companies such as Conveyant Systems (http://www.conveyant.com) which develop and distribute software that is compatible with the DCR-112/CPI-201. Most organizations write their own.

Does the SBI-145 Telephone Test Set work on both analog and digital lines?
No. The SBI-145 works on analog and DMS-100® (Meridian Digital Centrex) central office switches. It will not test any other types of digital lines.
How is the SBI-145 powered?
The SBI-145 is line powered. It does not require batteries unlike some of the other telephone test sets that are currently on the market.
Will the SBI-145 work on an Option 81 Nortel PBX?
No. This switch, now called the CS1000, uses proprietary signaling which is fully digital and its not supported by the SBI-145. The SBI-145 supports POTS (Touch tone and Pulse Dial) and Meridian Digital Centrex (EBS / P-Phone) which is used with the Nortel M5xxx series phones.
Please review the following to request the activation, standby, deactivation or reactivation of a cellular products SIM.
While most Activations take 20 minutes or less during Business Hours. Depending on the current workload, please allow a general Activation time of 24 hours with a maximum Activation time of 2 working days.
Activations are available during Business Hours only, 8:00AM to 4:00PM EST.
Important Note: if a cellular product is taken out of service there are two choices.
In Canada
- The fee drops to $5.00 CDN/month. Notify DPL when the unit is to be put back in service. There is a $9.00 CDN fee to reactivate the unit.
- To reinstate cancelled service, the SIM will have to be replaced at a cost of $25.00 CDN plus shipping.
In the USA
- Put the Hercules Plus on Standby (the power must be removed and DPL notified).
- The fee drops to $7.00 USD/month. Notify DPL when the unit is to be put back in service. There is a $9.00 USD fee to reactivate the unit.
- To reinsate cancelled service, a $25.00 USD charge will be applied.
TTS-100
The TTS-100 is a telephone test system used in the refurbishing of telephones, or to verify telephone functionality. This unit works on DMS-100® (EBS) telephones as well as all Analog telephones.

CPI-101
The CPI-101 interfaces a Northern Telecom DMS-100 Centrex Electronic Business Service (EBS) telephone line to a computer system. It allows complete computer control of an EBS line.
The computer can originate and answer telephone calls using the CPI-101, which is designed to operate on an EBS line with an EBS telephone on the same line.

The CPI-101 has an energy detector that enables the computer to determine which of the call progress tones are present on the line ringing, busy or dial tone.
This high impedance unit is designed to be connected in series with the M5xxx series EBS / MDC phone on an MDC line. It is intended for telephone application where voice access to the line is required. The Phone must be connected to the CPI-101 in order to properly terminate the MDC phone line.

SBI-145
The SBI-145 is a state of the art Craftsperson's test set intended for purchase by network providers as a tool to facilitate installing, diagnosing and testing POTS and MDC telephone lines.
This butt set employs the latest and most advanced circuit designs to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repairs of telephone lines.
It has three modes for dialing: Pulse Dial (PD), Touch Tone (DTMF) and Meridian Digital Centrex (MDC® or EBS). The MDC mode is for use on DMS-10®, DMS-100® (MDC) central office switches as well as on all M5000 series lines. The SBI-145 does not work on ISDN or other fully digital lines.
The SBI-145 is very light, self contained and line powered. It provides tip and ring identification, audio/visual indication of POTS ringing, last number redial and a nine number, twenty three digit repertoire memory facilitate dialing. High impedance monitoring, microphone muting, and ground start features are standard and packed in a rugged, easy to use case in either black or high visibility yellow with three termination options.

What is the Hercules Plus?
A wireless modem for ATM Data Transceiving. It uses Cellular Network Communications and is an extremely cost effective method of replacing telephone lines while providing flexibility in ATM location selection.
With my Hercules Plus, do I have to contact the Cellular provider for service?
No, The DPL Group is a VASP Service provider and supplies the cellular service. You'll need to contact us to activate the SIM.
With the Hercules modems, can I use my PC Software to access my ATMs?
Yes with the Hercules Plus using Extended Service (two way functionality). No, with the older Hercules modems which are a call out system only.
What are the benefits of wireless transactions?
Going to wireless eliminates the costs and delays affiliated with installing business telephone lines. It also provides additional security by providing an alarm that can't be negated by having the phone lines cut. Thirdly, if your current ATM location proves less than profitable, it's a simple matter to relocate your investment to a more productive location.
Would my customers notice a difference between wireless and telephone line transaction speeds?
The customers would not know the difference as the speeds are comparable or better with wireless.
Why would I need Alerts if the Service Provider already sends terminal status reports?
This does not change your current status alerts that report on your ATM functionality. Hercules Plus with our optional Anti-Theft Kits add physical alerts that cannot be stopped by a would be thief cutting a telephone line.
Will I be facing additional monthly charges by having my ATMs monitored by The DPL Group?
There are no additional monthly fees for monitoring. As an added feature, our optional Anti-Theft Kits can be programmed to send alert messages to any PCs and Cell phones that you specify.
ROI - Will I save money with the Hercules Plus?
Installation Cost Savings
A phone line installation fee varies from $120 to $200. Let's assume an average of $150. The delay is two weeks (quick) to one month (slow).
The Hercules has no line installation fee and no installation delay time.
As the average # of transactions per ATM is 400 / month and the average fee $1.75 per transaction then the cost of not installing the ATM the same day you order the phone line installed is:

Long Distance Transaction Fee Savings
No long distance calls are made to the service provider, The DPL Group uses a VPN connection, so you can reduce the per transaction fee, negotiate this with your service provider. i.e. $0.01 X 400 = $4.00 X 12 = $48.00 savings / year.
Reduced Location Risk
If a particular location does not work out, then the ATM can then be pulled with the saving of the $150.00 installation fee and reinstalled in a new location with the savings above starting anew.
How do I install the Hercules Plus?
Installation is quick and simple. Connect the power, plug in the phone jack, mount the antenna inside the machine and connect the door switch and it's ready to go. Contact The DPL Group to have the SIM activated. Take the ATM machine to the site of your choosing, plug in the power and you're in business.
For Extended Service units, install The DPL Group's free software on your personal computer and you can manage your ATM's using the ATM Manufactures' Software.
How does the Hercules Plus affect my reconcilliation / processing?
There is no affect whatsoever, it simply replaces the phone line.
What type of ATMs will work with the Hercules Plus?
Any ATM that uses the V22 and up in order to connect to a phone line will work.
What is the average transaction time?
The transaction time is between 8 and 12 seconds. The ATM is best configured using pre-dial. Use the phone number 555-0120 for transactions and phone number 555-0155 for error reporting.
How secure is the transaction information?
The transaction is completely Triple Des encrypted. This double encrypts the PIN and encrypts all other customer information. This is much more secure than having a phone line connection. The ATM also has physical alarming (with our optional Anti-Theft Kit) for additional security that is unavailable using a phone line.
I recently purchased an ATM600. I have it installed in my dial up ATM but it appears to be no faster than my old landline set up.
Your connection is only as fast as your slowest piece of hardware and in this case it’s the ATM’s modem. If you bypass the ATM modem and use the network card on the ATM to connect to our unit and then went over the internet or wireless you would get a 5 sec transaction speed. For this scenario; IP to IP, you’ll need a $10.00 - $30.00 switch or hub.
Is a static IP address required for use with the ATM600?
The ATM600 does not need a static IP. Our unit defaults to dynamic IP address but if the location has a secure network and they could use static IP, our units will work that way as well.
I'd like to use my wireless internet with my ATM600. Is it possible?
You can connect the ATM600 to wireless internet but you will need to buy a separate piece of hardware called a WIFI bridge. The WIFI bridge (these can easily be purchased locally) would connect to the location’s WIFI internet and then you would plug your ATM600 into that.
Is there a way to connect my ATM600 to the internet without running cables everywhere?
